I agree with a couple of the posters who mention that it is a bit preachy. It has some great information, but you have to carefully edit out some of the advice which is merely the opinion of the author and his VERY large family. Can easily make you feel guilty about following any other method of parenting except 'attachment parenting'.

Great. I can't say enough about the compassionate and well-informed Sears books.

This is an incredibly important book to have on hand. The attachment parenting philosophy has been as important for our marriage as for our baby.

I'm an attachment parent, and this is my baby bible -- I buy it for everyone I know, for a shower gift. Yes, Dr. Sears promotes co-sleeping, but -- as with everything else he talks about -- he says that you should only do it if it works for your and your family.

This has a wonderful wealth of information, as well as some great insights on how to keep your grazing toddler well-fed! It is slanted towards attachment-parenting, so if you don't like that, you won't like a lot of this book.

Love, love, love this book! Most of the advice really rings true for us (the co-sleeping is a little heavy, I agree with the other poster), but I like the fact that they recognize parents should trust a lot of their instincts as they know their children best.

Helpful if a little bit preachy. I don't like feeling like I am being talked down to -- however, the book is chock full of info.

Best book every. I had to buy a second copy when my 3rd child was born because the first one was so well used it was falling apart.

Our copy of this book is dog-eared from many a late night with a crying baby. I really appreciate Dr. Sears' approach in that I never have felt like he's being condescending or making me doubt my choices as a mother. Good stuff, regardless of whether you co-sleep or not.

Good sensible advice - I agree with previous poster that it needs to be organized a little easier for quick reference.
